Young Veterans is an Australian veteran organisation with a simple purpose: to enrich the lives of veterans and help them progress and succeed in life after service. Created by veterans who recognised the challenges some former ADF members face when transitioning into civilian life, Young Veterans provides a community built around connection, purpose and camaraderie. Through social activities, practical support, fundraising and shared experiences, they encourage veterans to reconnect, get involved and look forward to the next chapter of their lives.
We are enormously proud and grateful to have Young Veterans partnering with the Thomas Barlow Memorial Project and providing the auspice support that allows us to raise and manage funds through their established charitable framework. But this partnership is about much more than fundraising. Barlow himself was a veteran who left military service and built a remarkable new life in Australia, making his story as relevant to veterans today as it was more than 200 years ago. Together, we hope to bring that connection to life through veteran working bees at the gravesite, fundraising events, 4WD and motorcycle trips, BBQs and other activities leading up to the unveiling of his memorial. We are incredibly thankful to Young Veterans for getting behind the project and helping us ensure Barlow’s legacy continues to serve the veteran community.
